How to Showcase Your Bathroom Fitting Work Online
Bathroom fitting is a visual trade. Customers want to see what you can do before they hire you. Here is how to show off your work properly.
Photograph every job
Make it a habit. Before you start, take a wide-angle photo of the whole room. When you are done, take the same shot from the same position. These before and after comparisons are incredibly powerful. Use your phone, but make sure the space is well lit and tidy.
Lighting matters
Turn on all the lights in the bathroom. Open any blinds. If the room is dark, consider taking the photo with the door open to let in hallway light. Avoid using flash as it creates harsh shadows and makes tiles look flat.
Tidy the scene
Remove tools, dust sheets, packaging, and your coffee mug before taking the final photo. Add a few finishing touches: fold a towel neatly, make sure the toilet lid is down, and wipe any water spots off the taps and glass. These small details make a big difference.
Upload to the right places
Your North East Trades profile has a photo gallery. Upload your best work there. Also add photos to your Google Business Profile and your Facebook page. The more places your work appears, the more enquiries you will get.
Write a short description
When you post a photo, add a brief description. Mention what you did (full bathroom refit, walk-in shower installation, etc.), the area (Durham, Darlington, Newcastle), and any standout features (underfloor heating, wall-hung toilet, walk-in shower). This helps with search visibility.
Ask customers for permission
Always ask before photographing someone's bathroom. Most people are happy to let you, especially if you have done a good job. Some may even share your photos on their own social media.
Video walkthroughs
A quick 30-second video walk-through of a finished bathroom is very effective on Facebook and Instagram. You do not need to narrate it. Just a slow pan around the room showing off the work. Keep it simple and professional.
