1. About This Directory

North East Trades is a free online directory listing tradesmen in the North East of England. We provide information to help homeowners find local tradesmen. We do not employ, endorse, or guarantee any tradesman listed on this site.

2. No Guarantee

While we make every effort to ensure listings are accurate and up to date, we cannot guarantee the quality, reliability, or qualifications of any tradesman listed. Always verify credentials, insurance, and references before hiring.

3. User Accounts

Homeowners can create a free account to leave reviews and save tradespeople. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, post fraudulent reviews, or misuse the platform.

Business owners who have claimed their listing can access a portal to manage their profile, upload photos, view quote requests, and submit verification documents. Portal accounts are created during the claim or submission approval process.

4. User Submissions

By submitting a business listing, claim request, or quote request, you confirm that the information provided is accurate. We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any submission at our discretion.

5. Reviews

Registered homeowners can leave reviews for businesses listed on the site. All reviews are moderated before being published. We reserve the right to reject or remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, misleading, spam, or not based on a genuine experience. Reviews must be honest and based on a real interaction with the tradesperson.

6. Quote Requests

When you submit a quote request, your details (name, email, phone number, and job description) are automatically sent via email to tradesmen listed in our directory who match your selected trade and location. By submitting a quote request, you consent to your contact details being shared with these tradesmen. We have no control over how tradesmen use your contact details after receiving them. You may receive calls, emails, or messages from one or more tradesmen in response to your request.

7. Verification

Business owners can voluntarily upload identification documents (such as a driving licence or passport) and insurance certificates through the Business Portal to verify their identity and insurance status. Verified businesses receive a badge on their profile.

By uploading verification documents, you confirm that you are authorised to share these documents and that they are genuine. Documents are stored securely in private storage and are only accessible to North East Trades administrators for review purposes. They are never displayed publicly or shared with third parties.

We reserve the right to approve or reject any verification submission. Rejected documents will include a reason, and you may re-upload a replacement. We may revoke verification status at any time if we believe the information provided is no longer valid or was fraudulent.

8. Listings

Business information may be sourced from publicly available data including Google Maps and business websites. If you are the owner of a listed business and want to update or remove your listing, please contact us or use the claim process.

9. Limitation of Liability

North East Trades is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss, damage, or dispute arising from the use of this directory or from hiring a tradesman found through it.

10. Intellectual Property

The content, design, and code of this website are owned by North East Trades. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of this site without permission.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
